Our award winning Transitional Swaddle Sack® works well for babies during the second stage between snug swaddling and wearing a loose sleeping sack. It's the solution that parents have been searching for and it’s designed by a nurse! It features uniquely shaped 1/2 length arms up sleeves with foldover mitten cuffs that may be worn open or closed. SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Sack is an important safer sleep option for babies who can roll over because the sleeves allow babies to use their arms to push up and reposition their head if they roll over.

Our Transitional Swaddle Sack is convertible and easy to use. It's great for babies who prefer to sleep with arms up and for babies who like to self-soothe on their fingers.

With the mitten cuffs folded closed, the specially designed 1/2 length sleeves provide partial suppression of the Moro (startle) reflex. Parents may choose to open one or both cuffs so baby can self-soothe on their hand.

Our Transitional Swaddle Sack is deemed Hip Healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute, because it allows room for baby's hips and knees to flex and move, while still offering support.

It's easy to use! Fold the mitten cuffs closed, unzip the sack and place baby's arms into sleeves, place baby’s legs into sack and zip up. Baby's arms will be in a flexed position close to body. With cuffs closed the sleeves provide the best suppression of the Moro (startle) reflex. The closed cuffs also protect from facial scratches. You may choose to open a cuff, so baby may suck on fingers. Babies who can self- soothe are calmer and sleep better. We don't recommend pulling baby's arms all the way through the sleeve openings. If you pull the baby's arm all the way through the sleeve, the sleeve will be elbow length and will provide less suppression of the Moro (startle) reflex.

The sack’s ergonomic design features a snug midsection to provide snugness to reassure and comfort baby.

Our Transitional Swaddle Sack features a 2-way zipper, so diaper changes are easy. Just unzip from the foot to access the diaper.

The Transitional Swaddle Sack is designed to bridge the gap from classic snug swaddling to loose fitting sleeping sack.  When baby is ready to transition from a snug swaddle or can roll over, but is not yet ready for a sleeveless wearable blanket, the Transitional Swaddle Sack is the perfect solution for a good night’s sleep and peace of mind.

Designed in USA. Imported

US Patent D833,613.

US Patent 11,812,795.

Additional patents in EU, UK, China, Australia, Japan, and Korea.

Layering for extra warmth:

A cotton bodysuit may be worn underneath as a light extra layer if needed for a bit more warmth.

A wearable blanket, such as our zzZipMe Sleeping Sack may be worn over top if more warmth is needed. Our zzZipMe Sacks are available in a range of TOGs for different levels of added warmth for different environmental temperatures.

Do not use thick, polyester fleece pajamas under the Transitional Swaddle Sack. Cotton is best next to baby’s skin and no added thickness should be used under the TSS.

Arms up baby loves it!

From the first ultrasound picture we got, my daughter's been a hands-in-face kinda girl. So when we tried swaddling with her arms down, that was a no go. Got this arms up swaddle and she loves it!

Mom of 4 and I wish I had it sooner!

OMG. This swaddle is a lifesaver. I threw away our Halo sleep sack because my girl hates the swaddle over her arms, but this makes it so she can't startle awake. We've been using it since 6 weeks, and once we slip this on she just knows that it's bedtime. You will not go wrong with one of these.

Great Swaddle Sack!

Switched to this after using the Swaddle Up because my daughter was showing signs of attempting to roll over. She won't take a pacifier either so she needs her hands to calm herself down. Can't believe this saved our sleep so inexpensively. Save yourself $ and Z's and just buy it already!

Comfy baby sleeps almost all night

I have been giving these as gifts to all my mom-friends since I got it. I was worried about keeping my 2-month-old after he learned to push himself over so I bought one of these and WOW!

Great transitional tool from full swaddles to sleep sacks

We discontinued swaddling at 8 weeks just like the AAP says to do, and my son adapted to this within just a day or two. I'm so happy with this, and it's helping so much to transition over to just sleep sacks only.
